The Rocket City Dart Association

We sponsor and organize league play and gain support from our local establishments who are willing to host teams each week of our typical 15 week season. In return, the RCDA supports local tournaments through promotion to the membership and a listing on our website.

Mixed league team participants are teams of men and women ranging from 4 to 6 players per division with a limit of 5 players in our upper two divisions. Divisions are determined from team averages derived from the individual player averages from the previously played season. Mixed league plays on Tuesdays starting at 7 pm. Matches consist of Cricket, 501 and 301 in formats of singles, doubles, triples and a team event. Mixed doubles teams play on Sundays at 3 pm and play a 15 game format consisting of Cricket, 501 and 301. The mixed doubles season varies from playing each team one time to playing each team twice. The board of directors will determine the length of the season based on team sign-ups.

Through fund raisers and tournaments, we raise money so that we can contribute to the betterment of our community through donations to local and national organizations such as the National Foundation for the Blind, Blunt House, Downtown Rescue Mission, Breaking Free Rescue Mission, Huntsville Animal Shelter, American Cancer Society, American Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, Melissa George Foundation, CASA Madison County, and the Community Free Clinic.

We have established a goal to sponsor, in conjunction with ADO, a regional and a national tournament on an annual basis. To meet this goal, every February the RCDA hosts Shoot for the Moon, which Darters from all over the country come to compete. In 2014, the RCDA will celebrate its 25th year of hosting a national tournament.

We also host an Alabama Steel Tip State Championship and other fundraising events throughout the year.

Members are treated to celebrations three times a year and our officers are voted on a staggered schedule each year. Elected positions are as follows:

President and ADO Representatives after the completion of the Fall Season

Vice President, Secretary and Statistician after the completion of the Spring Season
